- Is The Sinking City 2 a sequel you have to play the first game to understand?
- Official and editorial sources present it as a new protagonist and a standalone story, not Charles Reed’s campaign continued. You can start here. The Sinking City Remastered is an adjacent Frogwares product about Reed and Oakmont, announced on the same Steam news hub.
- Which editions exist and what do they cost on US Steam?
- Standard $49.99 is the base game. Deluxe $54.99 adds The Arkham Field Kit. Premium $59.99 adds Field Kit, The Holloway Manor, and 24-hour advanced access. Field Kit and Holloway also sell separately at $7.99 and $12.99. Pre-order of any edition included The Chthonic Arsenal weapons.
- Does the Steam demo still matter after launch?
- It remains the official opening-hour sample: one hour, Calvin Rafferty, Next Fest 15–22 June 2026, plus patch notes 1 for crashes, a boat-camera break, and safe-puzzle evidence. It is not a separate launch SKU. After 18 August you buy the full product; the demo is history, not a required download.
- What languages does the game support?
- Steam and PlayStation list 15 screen languages with English full audio. Russian, Thai, Vietnamese, and Indonesian are not in that official language list, even though those Steam storefronts still display the English title The Sinking City 2. Japanese about text also writes シンキング シティ 2 as a reading, not a replacement title.
- Who is the protagonist, and is the partner named Faye?
- Official Steam news names occult adventurer Calvin Rafferty. Store copy describes a rescue — soul trapped in the Dreamlands, body stolen — without a Steam given name for the partner. IGN and some community pages say Faye; that name is not printed on the Steam about block, so this site does not treat it as a first-party slug.
